Lyrics
Without A Little Rain
Love, is a crazy game
In love, you lose and gain
But you, you took away the pain
This feeling it can stay forever
You and I in this sunny weather
It couldn’t get any better
But it just takes one minute
To break someone’s heart
To the point where it’s shattered
Torn apart
Everyone needs happiness
Cause nobody wants pain
You can’t make a rainbow,
without a little rain
without a little rain
Clouds, came rolling through
We shared our point of view
I was showered with the hurtful words you used
This feeling it can stay forever
But, I know that it will get better
Can’t hide from this stormy weather
But it just takes one minute
To break someone’s heart
To the point where it’s shattered
Torn apart
Everyone needs happiness
Cause nobody wants pain
You can’t make a rainbow,
without a little rain
without a little rain
Everything you said to me
I’m not broken, can’t you see
It just takes one minute
To break someone’s heart
To the point where it’s shattered
Torn apart
Everyone needs happiness
Cause nobody wants pain
You can’t make a rainbow,
without a little rain
without a little rain
Dreaming
I close my eyes when I am dreaming
Some things are lovelier unseen
When I wake, the world keeps turning, round
Worries everywhere, all too much to bear,
so, I just,
I close my eyes to keep on dreaming
Any dream is mine, if I believe
When I open them the dreams I know, are real
Life is mine to take, when I choose to wake
So, I can face the world
take flight on tarnished wings
Soar higher than, I could imagine
Appreciate beautiful things
So now I dream with eyes wide open
I now long for what’s to come
Future’s mine to write my story, page by page
I don’t know the end, Oh, but until then,
I’ll keep dreaming.

Without A Little Rain
In collaboration with Juno-winning, noted Canadian producer/songwriter/musician Greg Kavanagh, Avery has written accomplished new songs that appear on her second solo album, Without A Little Rain, released in Spring 2017.
Stylistically, the new record incorporates some fresh new elements, as Avery explains, “Being influenced by the greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Chet Baker, and Carmen McRae, this album tries to highlight my jazz vocal style, while creating a contemporary Soul sound, reminiscent of artists such as Norah Jones, Corrine Bailey Rae and even Amy Winehouse. I think of it as a really nice blend of jazz, soul and blues.”
The album and Avery’s songwriting have already received glowing reviews, airplay across Canada, including CBC Radio One and Two, and JazzFM, as well as stations in the United States including WNRM in Florida, among others. It’s also received charting positions, including debuting on the iTunes Top 200 Album Chart at #31.
